When Lathom South Parish Council (LSPC) was formed, the principal authority, West Lancashire Borough Council (WLBC), resolved that LSPC would have seven councillors. It is a duty of all councillors to make a declaration of acceptance of office and accept in writing to abide by the council's code of conduct. All councillors must also complete a registration of disclosable interests, which is logged by WLBC and is available to view on the WLBC website https://democracy.westlancs.gov.uk/mgParishCouncilDetails.aspx?ID=280&LS=3
